Hello, my dear reader, clients, friends, and enemies!
Where does one start an introduction? Well, first, let me reveal a secret - I have an alter ego. Her name is Amelia Smith, and she is a prolific fanfic writer with over 4000 followers on X (formerly Twitter, but let’s be honest, nobody calls it X). Hence, the enemies' welcome. One can never be too careful.
Amelia is fun, creative, and all too consumed by Bungo Stray Dogs, Harry Potter (not the JK Rowling supporter type, though), Honkai Star Rail, and, honestly, anything fun and with a good storyline. She writes a lot, and all of it is LGBTQ+, with around 400K words published on Archive of Our Own (AO3) and counting. Fantasy, mafia, college AU - she’s done it all. Almost no topic is off limits.
Tatiana is more reserved. A little shy, in fact, and slightly less creative than Amelia. She writes about politics and does not publish it out of an ever-present, although minor threat to one’s safety in Russia - one must agree with a party line, you see. She is a developmental editor who also makes futile attempts at poetry, which she never shows to anyone. She loves Joan Didion and Carolyn Forché. She memorizes poetry for fun, just to show off. Nothing more. Tatiana is just a little vain, you see.
Both Amelia and Tatiana love books, though. Live for them, in fact. Both joined the US Air Force just to get a Master’s in English for free. Frankly, it went something like this - Tatiana woke up one day and thought, “How do I get an MA for free? Air Force pays? Bet.”
Amelia gets paid to write fanfiction (for example, Captain Nakahara), Tatiana gets paid to edit manuscripts, essays, papers, blog posts, press kits - anything creative.
So, which one do you prefer?
This one is from my trip to London :)
